Stop the Bleed Training with the Wellfleet Fire Dept

Stop the Bleed Training & Emergency Preparedness with Our Hometown Heroes from the Wellfleet Fire Department

Tuesday: July 14, 2026
Time: 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Location: Wellfleet Adult Community Center

Heroes aren’t born — they’re trained! Join us for an afternoon of practical safety skills with our hometown heroes from the Wellfleet Fire Department. This hands-on Stop the Bleed Training & Emergency Preparedness session teaches simple, effective techniques to help in an emergency before first responders arrive. You’ll also learn helpful summer safety tips to stay confident and prepared while enjoying our community and beaches.

Led by Captain Paramedic Justin Kinshaw, this training is designed for all ages and experience levels. Come learn how to stay calm, take action, and support others when it matters most.

With summer here, it’s also a great chance to learn beach‑safety reminders so you can enjoy our shoreline with confidence. We’re lucky to share our beaches with incredible wildlife, including sharks, and staying aware helps keep everyone safe.

We’ll also cover what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency:
• Stay calm and call 911 immediately
• Move yourself and others to safety if possible
• Apply firm, direct pressure to bleeding
• Use a tourniquet if trained and available
• Follow the guidance of emergency personnel when they arrive

Lunch will be provided by the Cape Cod Ocean Community, and the program is offered in partnership with the Wellfleet Fire Department and Wellfleet Beach Department. All community members are welcome, especially seniors and their grandchildren. Please call 774-801-8119 to reserve your spot at this Free Event!
