Ukulele:

Wednesdays 12:30 – 1:30, Join Mary Abt at the Wellfleet Adult Community Center for an hour full of ukulele JOY! Mary has been teaching basic ukulele for years. No fancy stuff, just good old-fashioned fun. Any skill level welcome – beginners through experienced that may be looking for a fun group to join on a weekly basis. FREE!

If you have a ukulele, please bring it with you and if you do not have one, we have some you can use (please let us know ahead of time if you need one). Thank you to the Friends for purchasing “loaner ukes”!

 FYI ~ Chelsea was in Truro when Mary taught there and says the class is GREAT FUN for all skill levels.  Kindly RSVP so we can set up the room.  Dust off your ukulele and join us for some fun!!

Men’s Group: 

NEW!  Men’s group for retirement & aging: As we age, we must adjust to many challenges.  We may lose meaning and purpose due to retirement.   Join forces with others to cope with the challenges and stressors that retirement and aging can present. This will be a 4-week session; we will engage in meaningful discussion around the issues of retirement and aging in a casual and confidential setting at the Wellfleet Adult Community Center.   Meetings will be held weekly, beginning Thursday, November 3, from 2:00 - 3:15.  Since space is limited, prior registration is necessary.  There is no charge for this offering.  Perfect for the recently retired.  Please join us.  Please call the Center to sign up. 


Bereavement Support Group: 

A positive, nurturing, confidential setting to learn ways to manage and cope with loss.  Groups are facilitated by experienced bereavement professionals and are FREE of charge. All our groups are open to anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one. It is the process of grieving that helps us heal. Please contact the Bereavement Coordinator to confirm the group schedule and to pre-register (required) in advance. Exercise

Slow Flow Hatha Yoga

This class is a slow paced, fluid flow of Yoga postures that stretches all the major muscles.  The gentle movement sequences, breath work and supported silent mediation will promote increased awareness, mindfulness and quieting of the nervous system. Detailed instruction and modifications are offered while we practice increasing strength, balance and flexibility.  This class is a safe place where you will never feel pressured to complete a pose that doesn’t meet your skill set or fitness level.  Please bring:  yoga mat, water bottle, blanket wrapped around the mat and tied with a strap/necktie (to be used in class).   NEW DAYS ~ Monday & Wednesday, 8:30-9:45 AM


Sit & Fit: 

1 hour of balance, stretching and light chair fitness, standing option for those who wish to do so.  Can be modified for varying abilities.  Monday & Wednesday, 10:45 – 11:45 AM


Tai Chi: 

with GEOFFREY KARLSON:  Every Tuesday, 9:00 – 10:00 AM ~Please wear comfy shoes ~ class is standing & sitting (no floor work).  Thru December…… then taking a haiatus until late January 2023.


Fun Friday Dance Party

beginning December Light & easy dance with Jenny.  Simple steps, great music, easy workout.  Join us to get your groove on and dance happily into the weekend.  Open to all.  Fridays, 10:45-11:45 AM

SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Everyone):  A visit or phone call with a certified SHINE volunteer may reduce your out of pocket medical and/or prescription drug costs.  In addition, meeting with your SHINE counselor during open enrollment can help you identify public programs that can help with premiums, copayments and health coverage based on income and assets.  State certified SHINE counselors are available at the Wellfleet Adult Community Center on Wednesdays by appointment to help you understand health care coverage, review cost increases, and find out what’s new with Medicare. Dr. Campo, podiatrist: 

For all foot care problems and routine care.   NOTE:  Most podiatry services are covered by Medicare & other insurance (prior approval needed for HMO’s) ~ the balance of what insurance does not cover is patient’s responsibility, including any co-payments mandated by your insurance carrier. Appointments must be booked through the COA.   SCHEDULING PROCEDURE:  There will be no scheduling of “floats”.  Patients must adhere to scheduled time, NO EXCEPTIONS.  Emergency appointments are scheduled through the Boston office at (617)248-8682, not through the COA.  Thank you.  New patients must be Wellfleet residents.
